Within the framework of feminism, my work aims to communicate the objectification of women in modern printed media which challenges the way women are being represented. Inspired by the fragility of collage, I combine photographic fragments of women from popular magazines, juxtaposed to project the power of image and text.

By replacing the familiarity of facial identity with objects, I aim to draw upon a contemporary narrative that plays on the idea of women being perceived as objects in the mass media. I have focused on using young models found in magazines, combined with my own photographs and text. In doing so, this highlights my own personal experience as a woman in the 21st century and the responses of a consumer of mass media imagery.
