3 meter screen-printed length using pigment on linen. 'Bloomsbury' is a combination of still life paintings drawn from observation that create a flowing repeated design.
Hand painted florals onto linen using procion dyes with a 1 layer pigment screen-print on top. 'Vanessa' captures the delicacy and textures of nature with a fresh twist.
'Bloom' is a digitally printed linen which is composed of multiple paintings of foliage and florals in bloom. This print offers a playful yet sophisticated use of colour, and is upholstered on a statement chair.
3 meter screen-printed length using pigment onto cotton. 'Charleston' has a playful pattern feel to it and the block colour adds a bold piece to the collection. It is created from Philippa's drawings of Charleston house and her own still life scenes.
'Duncan' and 'Grant'
Duncan is geometric jacquard design inspired by the shapes made by Duncan Grant's decoration in Charleston Farmhouse. Grant is a co-ordinate screen-printed design onto linen, which adds pattern into the collection.
These 5 co-ordinate designs are all screen-printed or a digital design which is then screen-printed onto. They bring calm to the busier main designs with a mix of pigment, flock and pearlescent.
This hand painted striped Roman Georgette has an added element of subtle stripes using Devore.
This is part of a statement hand painted and screen-printed design which scales up florals and uses painterly marks to create a fresh look.
Philippa is a print design graduate who creates screen-printed and digital textile prints. Her love of drawing and painting is evident in her work as she creates colourful and playful yet sophisticated collections utilising a mixture of detailed and abstract designs.
Current collection: 'British Bohemia' An exploration of British gardens, patterns and still life inspired by the Bloomsbury group and their home in the 20th century. This work focuses on the freedom and creativity that nature brings through painterly expressions, with a taste of Charleston House that offers thought, playfulness and a celebration of life. This collection embraces an eclectic mix of florals, textures and geometrics which bring a fresh contemporary look to create in an interior setting. Philippa's skills lie in her graphic design knowledge and her ability to draw from observation to a high standard which she then utilises when creating digital and screen-printed textile designs. She wishes to pursue a career in print/graphic design industries.
