Children's Book Illustration
This double page spread was created for a children's book that I designed based on the idea of a young boy wanting to join a band. He couldn't find anyone to join his band until he went on an adventure into the woods...
Final Double Page Spread
The final spread in the series of illustrations for the children's book. This illustration shows the celebratory concert after the boy found some band members!
Lucy Worton
From an early age, I have always been interested in children's book illustration and how the illustrations alone can tell a story. This has encouraged me to create my own visual style which has informed my final projects, leading me to complete two projects based on illustrating for children.
The main aim of my work is to create characters and illustrations that my target audience can engage and connect with. I always start a project using hand-rendered techniques and later develop them digitally as this allows for more experimentation to take place. I believe that my main strengths lie within creating fictional work as this allows me to stretch my imagination and create unique outcomes. I aspire to gain further experience as an illustrator, specifically within the area of children's books.
