A Textile Design graduate from Loughborough University, specialising in woven textiles. Her most recent work focuses on clashing colours and patterns, intended for use in the high-end fashion market. 'Modern Memphis: A statement against the neutral and functional modernism' is an innovative and quirky unisex collection designed for Spring/Summer 2020, with the initial inspiration being gathered from European architecture.
Before commencing her final year at University, Lauren undertook a year in industry, completing a year-long placement at Prominent Europe Ltd. Throughout this time, she has gained a valuable skill set that can be adapted to a variety of roles. 'Modern Memphis', her most recent work, draws inspiration from European architecture and uses familiar shapes and patterns with a reinvented colour palette and style. The collection consists of the trademark stark black-and-white from the Memphis movement, with clashing block colour and patterns to create interesting, unexpected combinations. Using tapestry weaving, Lauren was able to have freedom on the loom to truly represent the collages through woven designs. Upon graduation, Lauren intends to pursue her passion for colour and texture as a woven designer.
