Movement is the main focal point to my work. I often use unconventional methods to fill the page with colour. I didn’t think too much about the colour choices; however, I was cautious about the colour theories. I wanted to portray a vibrant and bright element to my artwork.

I have incorporated the movement by manipulating the ink to allow a fluid aesthetic. I found using alcohol inks rather than paint allowed me to get the outcome I wanted, as the blending of colours wasn’t harsh and was a more fluid movement, creating a smooth colour gradient. The works have turned into process drawings centring around the singular method of gusting air. I’ve experimented with how I could push the inks to their limits, trying different surfaces and effects on the overall look, whilst using the same initial process throughout. There is a delicate balance between controlling the flow of ink and allowing it to run freely to generate these pleasing artworks, yet allowing the unexpected. Another aspect of the work is playing with the knowledge of the unknown. Each outcome will not be like the others, and that intrigues me.
