Imogen Wredden
My illustrative practice focuses on surface pattern design. Predominately I work with commercially minded briefs and projects to produce innovative and exciting designs for use on a variety of products, i.e. wallpaper, stationery or accessory products.
I have a fluid visual style and enjoy the challenge of pushing myself out of my comfort zone and experimenting with different media and techniques to create outcomes which are carefully tailored to a particular target audience. I particularly enjoy carrying out projects which focus on solving a specific design problem. Following graduation, I plan to build a career as a surface pattern designer, preferably working on stationery or accessory collections.
Experience
I completed a short term placement at Lemonade Illustration Agency during my year in enterprise, where my responsibilities included general office admin and the creation and deployment of various social media content. This position gave me experience of a professional creative atmosphere, allowed me to grow my understanding of client communication and management and allowed me to develop my digital content creation skills. I have also worked as a customer service assistant in a children's shoe shop since 2016. This position has given me experience of teamwork, small scale project management and customer relations.
Placements
July 2017 - July 2018
Last year I completed a year in enterprise as a placement year. I founded a small online business selling a variety of products featuring my own original designs. This process ignited my interest in designing pattern for product and has given me confidence in my decision to pursue a career in this area.
