Imogen Sharpe

A textile design graduate specialising in Printed Textiles. Throughout the body of work, she showcases her distinctive drawing style with a bold sense of colour. Expressive marks are used to create a contrast of detailed illustrative imagery alongside abstract painterly artwork.

‘An exploration into Wollaton Hall’ This collection is an investigation into the Wollaton Hall estate: considering the rare Elizabethan architecture and the surrounding landscape; exploring the scenic beauty, the plethora of ornamental detail and the traditional British countryside. In the Elizabethan era, the architecture of stately homes was focused on the aesthetic; consequently, this fashion collection has a focus on drawing, pattern and bold uses of colour, resulting in new and contemporary designs. The project involves an array of artwork that is illustrative as well as abstract with textural qualities, to create a variety of outcomes in both digital and hand screen prints. Imogen is aspiring to work as a printed textile designer in the fashion industry, utilising and expanding the skill set that she has gained from studying at Loughborough University.
