'Urban Sanctuary' The theme of the collection was an investigation into wellbeing with an aim of creating textiles that reflect an ethos of tranquility and calmness. I have a growing interest in the subject of wellbeing so decided to develop my understanding of what the subject means when looking at it in a textiles format.
The plan was to produce a theme centred on stillness, focusing on the serenity found within a cathedral’s interior. I went about this by using textures, colours and shapes that link to a peaceful atmosphere, and through experimenting with how digital processes can be mixed together and integrated into everyday life and observing the architectural structure and beauty that holds in the form of a cathedral. This has supported the development of creating a digital-based collection for a wellbeing environment, whilst still using textiles to make it comfortable and practical.  My strengths in textiles lie within creating composition drawings and using primary research to develop a range of experiments with digital methods to produce embroidered forms on a variety of scales, mixing in prints and laser processes. Career aims I hope to continue working in the line of creating textiles surface designs and using digital processes of embroidery and print for interior design.
