Why we use colour in paintings and the narrative behind it?
My current practice is looking into the various different tints and tones of colour specifically green, blue and purple. Colour is an important factor within my work and the paintings that I create whilst also being inspired by painters such as: Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock, Gerhard Richter, Josef Albers and Ellsworth Kelly. I specialise in abstract painting because I enjoy using a variety of different colours to create and tell a story. Throughout my Loughborough University journey, I have used colour experimenting with a wide range of mediums such as oil, acrylic and watercolour. I have not only created paintings but also experimented with different types of printing, ceramic work and also photography. I aim to continue to challenge myself after University as a freelance artist and am hoping to be able to take this passion for art to create more work and improve every step of the way.
