Elle Hamer
Elle Hamer's collections consist of bold colours and geometric patterns, graphic designs and unusual surface textures to create distinctive compositions. Elle seeks to combine innovative, contemporary design with unconventional materials to develop remarkable textile designs for fashion.
Signs, symbols and semiotics are the unifying subject matter behind Elle's graduate fashion textiles collection, focusing on the contrast between Mandarin and English written language. With the creation of her second unisex collection, Elle explores androgyny, not only for the collection outcome, but as a motivating theme underpinning this body of work. Elle’s collections are influenced by her desire to explore innovative materials, techniques and processes. She uses CAD, print, digital embroidery, jacquard, fabric manipulation and laser cutting and etching techniques, which she explores to their limits to produce unique compositions. Elle has specialised in designing textiles for fashion throughout her university career and aims to pursue a career in the fashion industry upon graduating.
Awards
Elle’s work has been exhibited on the Saatchi Gallery website and her designs were shown at the Premiere Vision trade show in Paris 2017, 2018 and 2019.
