Norwegian Wood Book Cover Design
A re-design of the book Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. The book is very emotional and includes a lot of symbolism related to love, life and death. My cover includes Japanese symbolism of the butterfly, known as souls of the deceased. I paired this with the Japanese legend of the 'red string of fate'. The legend has it that the two people connected by the red thread will have an important story, regardless of the time, place or circumstances. Although simple, I really wanted to add as much detail as possible to this piece to reflect the story and characters.

Hanami in the Park Poster Design
A poster design for an annual event I created called 'Hanami in the Park'. Hanami 花見 ("flower viewing") is the Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the bloom of cherry blossom in spring. I decided to bring this event to the U.K and based it in one of London's Parks; Alexandra Palace. I created this poster using watercolour and fine liners. I then edited the piece digitally to add the typography and logo.

Your ABC Booklet
Your ABC is an informative booklet dedicated in helping women who have had, or going through an abortion. The booklet was designed to support the pro-choice movement and give advice to women that is not readily available in local GP surgeries or clinics. Here are some DPS of the booklet. I digitally illustrated each page along with adding handwritten type on some of the pages.

Fusion Gel Branding & Packaging
Branding and Packaging for a product called 'Fusion Gel', work completed within my year of industry. The product was aimed at nail technicians so needed to look clean and professional.
Courtney Elizabeth Gray
I am an imaginative and creative person who loves a challenge. My work is vibrant, colourful and expressive and I enjoy using different medias and textures to create interesting design pieces.
I believe one of my strengths is being able to adapt to any task given to me. While on my placement year, I was able to try many different aspects of graphic design, from branding and packaging to e-shot, HTML and video editing. I found a passion for branding and illustration while on placement and began to incorporate this into my final-year work. After University, I want to look for work that allows me to experience many areas of graphic design.
