Angharad Davies
I produce handmade illustrations focusing on relatable contemporary topics with a humorous twist, using my additional graphic design skills to select typography, and an editorial layout to best communicate my message.
I thrive on the challenge of creating illustrations which both problem-solve and simplify information for my target audience, whilst remaining relatable and playful. My practice utilises illustration to address current issues; creating playful analogies to connect with viewers on an informal and accessible level. I often personify animals, plants and inanimate objects to add a light-hearted or humorous touch to my message. My outcomes are realised using paint markers and fine-liner pens, to achieve a handmade look. This light-hearted method can also help broach more serious topics that are difficult to discuss or convey through photographic means.
