Aimée Turner

My practice delivers an honest account of an anxiety ridden mind, communicated through the use of latex and textiles.

My aim has been to establish work which accurately portrays anxiety and the affect it can have on the mind. The work falls into the realms of minimalism and textiles as my intention has been to deliver a clear insight into mental health issues. I believe that my strengths are working with latex, which can be a challenging material on a large scale. My skills also involve designing large scale textile pieces with original designs as well as embroidery and sewing. I have thoroughly enjoyed having my own studio space and aim to work within a creative environment professionally in the future. My career aspirations are to become an artist working in a studio environment creating innovative installations and collaborating with other artists.
